CONFERENCE SITE AND HEADQUARTERS HOTEL

The organizing committee identified a luxurious hotel “Hilton Sorrento Palace” as place for the IMTC/2006. The Hilton Sorrento Palace, with its modern yet inviting facilities, stands on a hill overlooking the town of Sorrento and offering to its guests a unique and spectacular view, beautifully framed by the jagged outline of the Gulf of Naples on the horizon, the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Vesuvius, while just round the corner unfolds the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. The same encounter of sky, land and sea that has inspired so many poets and writers since the old Roman times. The area from Naples to Salerno, including towns like Pompeii, Sorrento and Amalfi is itself a melting pot of mythology, history and culture. But it is also its convenient location in the heart of Sorrento, a short away from the main urban and extra-urban lines of communication (1 km from the railway station and the harbour, 25 km from the highway exit, 50 km from the international airport of Naples) to make the Hilton Sorrento Palace the ideal setting for the IMTC/2006 site.

. . . BUT I WOULD LIKE ALSO TO VISIT SOME OTHER PLACES, NOT ONLY THE CONFERENCE ROOMS!

Well, you are right! Visiting another country, sightseeing the towns and the countryside, visiting the local museums, eating the local food and drinking the local wine are important at least as the conference. The cultural stimuli for a better and wider knowledge as well as for a better understanding of other people and cultures pass also through the above fundamental aspects of our life.
Therefore, if you like to visit Sorrento or some other places, you may find many information in the Tourist Information page of this site, a section dedicated to stimulate our natural senses and neurons in a more pleasant way.
