How to become involved in the Switchgear Committee

How to get involved with the Switchgear Committee is the most commonly asked question. This page was developed to help answer that question and provide a resource for anyone new to the Committee. The steps below are not necessarily in order, but provide links to assist with the endeavor.

The meeting webpages explain how to register. As the meeting approaches a schedule will be posted. Attendance at the meetings is not required for participation but the discussions are invaluable.

When you join IEEE, you join a community of over 425,000 technology and engineering professionals united by a common desire to continuously learn, interact, collaborate, and innovate. IEEE membership provides you with the resources and opportunities you need to keep on top of changes in technology; get involved in standards development; network with other professionals in your local area or within a specific technical interest; mentor the next generation of engineers and technologists, and so much more.

The Power and Energy Society (PES) of the IEEE offers conferences, networking opportunities, publications and educational material that help our members stay-up-to date on the latest advances including: renewable energy system design and integration, smart-grid technologies, electric vehicles, wholesale market design and operation and asset management. PES members also gain access to the IEEE PES Resource Center, a members-only library with over 1,600+ technical reports, conference videos, presentations and more.

IEEE-SA members are the driving force behind the development of standards, providing technical expertise and innovation, global participation, and dedication to ongoing advancement and promotion of new concepts. Membership enables you to contribute to and influence this important work while connecting you with a network of industry experts from a wide range of technical areas. Joining the IEEE-SA is easy. Simply determine which IEEE-SA membership is right for you and join right online through our site.

This is where it all happens! Join industry leaders to discuss and develop standards and technical issues involving Switchgear. Volunteer and participate as much as possible. The Committee is comprised of volunteers and participation is highly encouraged!
